At TJS Solar, we recently completed a significant solar installation for a commercial property in Leigh. This 40.95kWp system highlights our dedication to incorporating advanced technology and robust safety features into every renewable energy solution we deliver. Technology and Equipment
For this installation, we selected Sigenergy inverters, recognised for their advanced technology, high performance, and reliability. Sigenergy systems are designed to deliver exceptional efficiency, ensuring that a greater proportion of captured solar energy is converted into usable power. This high level of performance plays a key role in maximising energy savings while supporting the client’s long-term sustainability and energy independence goals.
A key addition to this system was the integration of module-level PV optimisers. These advanced components operate at the individual panel level, allowing each module to perform at its maximum potential regardless of shading, soiling, or panel mismatch. This intelligent design improves overall system efficiency, enhances performance monitoring, and helps maximise energy yield. In addition, module-level optimizers contribute to improved system safety by reducing DC voltage at the panel level when required, lowering electrical risk during maintenance or emergency situations. Together, they play a critical role in optimising performance while supporting the safety of both the system and the building’s occupants.
We also installed 2 x Schneider 160a AC isolators, along with 100 meters
of 240mm AWA AC distribution cable, to manage the system's electrical flow safely and efficiently. Additionally, we designed and installed a new MCCB panelboard specifically for the PV system, ensuring optimal management of the solar energy produced.
System Enhancements
The inclusion of the Firefighter Gateway was a significant enhancement to this project. It provides an immediate safety feature, allowing the system to be quickly and safely shut down, which is vital for protecting the building and its occupants. This feature also offers peace of mind, knowing that the system is equipped with the latest safety technology, making it easier for emergency services to manage any potential incidents.
Installation Process
